Jan Bader, JD, specializes in trademark and copyright law, particularly the management of corporate trademark portfolios. She has managed every size of portfolio, from large public companies to small businesses with a trademark or two. She has extensive experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, protection, and licensing, including the securing of international trademark protection through the Madrid Protocol and a network of associates around the world. She has also handled numerous oppositions, cancellations, and concurrent use proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In the copyright arena, Jan has cleared titles and rights for the motion picture and television industries. Formerly of counsel to the law firm of Howrey, LLP, Washington, D.C., Jan spearheaded the design of the Symbus IP Edge Online Management System for Intellectual Assets. She is the Managing Member at Symbus, and focuses her attention on client accessibility and the expansion of the firm through information technology and electronic practices.
